The word Bandwidth is often used by people using the computer regularly who are also known as the computer people.This is the reason why the word Bandwidth is used very broadly by these people.“Enough bandwidth is not available around to get the job done” might be heard from a regular computer user. By these words he means that time or the people are not available as required to complete the job. But this is a bit  different from the actual meaning of the word as explained.

Bandwidth can be referred to both the terms,capacity and time and so the definition can be written as the amount of data that can be transmitted through a communication channel in a given or fixed period of time.So as per the above definition bandwidth can be referred to both the terms the capacity and the time. Bandwidth is the difference between the highest and the lowest frequencies and is measured in hertz (KHz,MHz,GHz) but this is in the case of an analog channel or in a digital channel that is wrapped in a carrier frequency.In a digital line bandwidth is measured in bits per second or bytes per second (see mb/sec).
