RAID and Mirroring Solutions (RAID I)
Hello,
As efforts are continuously made by the individuals and the companies to save the data which is important for them there are some of the new technologies in the market to ensure that the data is very safe. Along with the safety of the data it is also very important that the data is accessible all the time. One of the new technology to save the important data is RAID (Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks). RAID offers an excellent read speed and write-speed as it involves two or more physical hard disks into a single group which can be done by using special kind of software and hardware and it is considered to be a more reliable option as compared to a single hard disk. Operating system is unaware of the technical workings as the hardware Solutions continuously work on presenting that they are attached to the Dedicated server as a single hard drive.Whereas the RAID drive is presented by the software solutions as it a single drive to applications in return as they are implemented in such a way in the operating system to do so.Also RAID I is available for the very important data which requires a very high reliability.Mirroring is One of the techniques used in RAID I for the Data redundancy.
Data is written in two copies that is all the Data in the system is written on two drives instead of one. This is done so that if one of the drives mirrored fails or does not respond due to some mechanical or other reasons than it can switch to the other drive so that it can work and provide the user with uninterrupted accessibility to the data. This technique is called mirroring as the data of the first drive and the second one is the same as a thing looks the same in the mirror as the same as it is in reality. This technique is also called fault tolerance. The main reason this technique is used is to make sure that there is no loss in user accessibility and to provide the user with 100% data redundancy so that the Data is available all the time and is well protected also. The purpose behind doing this is that if one of the drive fails then the other can provide the data easily but high technical skills and a number of drives are required for this purpose.Make sure that you buy twice the capacity if the data requires extremely high performance accessibility and is very important as the technique mirroring is used to make the data available all the time for the user and this is possible with this technique to provide 100% accessibility as if one of the drives fail then the other drive can be used to access the Data as the data is also available on the second drive of the Dedicated servers.
